The New International Version (NIV) is an evangelical version of the Bible. This version is translated directly from sources in Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek.
The translation was elaborated in 1999 by a group of biblical experts who represent a dozen Spanish-speaking countries that belong to a good number of evangelical Christian denominations and that used the same exegesis as the Anglo-Saxon New International Version.
The New International Version is one of the most widespread versions of the Bible, more than 450 million copies have been sold only from its translation into English.
